 Only 254 Engine Hours

This Mercury Verado 400XL has 254 genuine operating hours.

For a high-performance 400HP outboard, documented operating hours are an important consideration when comparing used engines.

Engine Hours

254 Hours

The engine’s operating hours should be verified against available diagnostic information and documentation before purchase.

300-Hour Service Already Completed

One of the strongest advantages of this listing is that the engine has already received its 300-hour service ahead of schedule.

This means the buyer is not simply purchasing an engine based on an hour reading—the listing also includes documentation showing that the scheduled service has been completed.

Service Documentation Included

• 300-hour service completed
• Service documentation
• 4-page certified Mercury technician inspection report

The actual service items completed should be reviewed in the supplied documentation.

Certified Mercury Technician Inspection Report

The engine comes with a 4-page certified Mercury technician inspection report.

This documentation provides prospective buyers with additional information when assessing the engine’s condition and service history.

For a premium used outboard, documented professional inspection can provide significantly more confidence than relying solely on photographs or a verbal description.

Included Documentation

Document	Included
Mercury Technician Inspection Report	Yes
Report Length	4 Pages
Service Documentation	Yes
300-Hour Service Record	Yes

Buyers are encouraged to review the complete inspection report before purchase.

Mercury Gold Warranty

The engine is covered by a Mercury Gold Warranty, which is advertised as transferable to the new owner.

Warranty coverage provides additional peace of mind when purchasing a premium used outboard.

Important: Warranty availability, remaining coverage period, transfer requirements, exclusions and applicable terms should be confirmed before purchase and verified with the relevant Mercury warranty documentation.

Mercury Verado 400XL V10 Performance

The Mercury Verado 400XL is designed for boaters who need substantial power for larger and more demanding vessels.

The 400HP V10 platform provides the power required for applications such as:

• Offshore fishing
• Large centre consoles
• Sport-fishing vessels
• Performance boats
• Luxury cruisers
• Commercial marine applications
• Multi-engine offshore setups

The V10 four-stroke configuration is designed to deliver strong torque and responsive acceleration while maintaining smooth and refined operation.

25″ Extra-Long Shaft (XL)

This engine features a 25-inch extra-long shaft, commonly identified by the XL designation.

The 25″ configuration can be appropriate for vessels designed around a taller transom or specific offshore installation requirements.

Buyers should confirm:

• Required shaft length
• Transom height
• Jack-plate configuration
• Engine mounting requirements
• Maximum rated horsepower
• Engine weight capacity
• Steering and control compatibility

Correct installation is essential for safe and efficient operation.

 Complete Rigging Package

This listing includes several components that can add considerable value when installing a high-horsepower outboard.

Included:

• Adapting harnesses
• Fixed jack plate
• Propeller
• Service documentation
• Certified Mercury technician inspection report
• Transferable Mercury Gold Warranty

This helps make the package more comprehensive than an engine-only sale.

Propeller Included

A propeller is included with the engine.

Before installation, buyers should confirm the propeller’s exact diameter, pitch and configuration and ensure it is appropriate for their vessel, engine setup, target RPM range and intended application.

Fixed Jack Plate Included

A fixed jack plate is included in the package.

A jack plate can provide additional installation flexibility on compatible boats and may be particularly relevant to certain offshore and performance-boat configurations.

Buyers should verify that the supplied jack plate is suitable for their vessel, engine mounting requirements and intended application.

Adapting Harnesses Included

The package includes adapting harnesses, providing additional rigging value for compatible installations.

Because rigging requirements can vary between boat manufacturers, control systems and model years, compatibility should be confirmed before purchase.
